At the Grand Falls General Hospital, May 3, 2017, Mr. René Dupuis of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 84. He was the widower of Alphena Chamberland. Born at Minto in 1933, he was a son of the late Clovis and Mary (Girouard) Dupuis.
For several years, he was a member of the U.C.T., Grand Falls Council 854. He was a 3rd-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Grand Falls Council 2331.
He is survived by his daughter, Anne (Donald "Puce" Levesque) of Saint John, grandchildren, Kyla of Gatineau, Quebec and Rikky of Grand Falls, brother and sister, Arthur Dupuis of Moncton and Liza Poitras (Réal) of Grand Falls, half-sisters, Shirley Robb of Dartmouth, NS, Carol McDonald of Calhoun, NB and Doris MacCauley (Paul) of Cumberland Bay, NB, half-brother, Keith Dupuis of Chipman, brother-in-law, Blair Boudreau (late Merle) of Minto, several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the Vautour Family: André Vautour (Lucille) of Grand-Mère, Quebec, Joseph Vautour (late Noella) of Grand Falls, Charles Vautour (Odette) of Levis, Quebec and Clifford Vautour (Fernande) of Fredericton. He was predeceased by half-sister, Merle Boudreau.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Sunday, May 7th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, May 8th from 2 to 4 p.m. Knights of Columbus will meet for prayers Sunday at 8 p.m.
His funeral service will be held Monday, May 8th at 4 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery.
