Hilda Vasseur

At the Grand Falls Manor, August 30, 2010, Mrs. Hilda Vasseur of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 95 years.  She was the wife of the late Thomas Vasseur.  Born at Saint-Andre in 1914, she was a daughter of the late Onezime and Marie (Michaud) Godreau.

She is survived by three children, Verna Drinkwater (Bill) of Wading River, NY, Patricia Hysong (Dewey) of Aliquippa, PA and Bill Vasseur (Peggy) of Lakeville, Westmorland County, NB, ten grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one sister, Yvonne Bernier of Grand Falls, several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Judy MacAleer (late Joseph Eddie), two sisters, Alice Rioux and Gilberte Levesque and a brother, Euclide Godreau.

Her funeral service was held Wednesday, September 1st at 11 a.m. from the St-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with Father Frederic Poitras officiating.  The pallbearers were Paul Hitchcock, Roger Bernier, Hervé Levesque, Maurèle Desjardins, Gary Levesque and Gary Kavanaugh.  Interment was in the Assumption Cemetery, Grand Falls.
