Fidèle Rossignol

At the Grand Falls General Hospital, March 16, 2020, Mr. Fidele Rossignol of Saint-Leonard passed away at the age of 82.  He was married to the former Norma Michaud for more than 62 years and 11 months.  Born at Grand Falls in 1937, he was a son of the late Fred and Emilie (Corbin) Rossignol.

For more than 43 years, Mr. Rossignol was a heavy equipment contractor.  He was a School Bus Driver for several years as well as a volunteer firefighter and a paramedic.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree of Saint-Leonard Council 2743.

He is survived by his wife, three children, Solange Ouellette (late Donald)(partner Roger) of Saint-Andre, Nicole Michaud (Marc) of Grand Falls and Serge Rossignol (Mona) of Saint-Leonard, four grandchildren, Tina and Michelle Ouellette, Eric Michaud and Malika Rossignol, Mona's children, Nathalie Levesque and Caroline Caron, two sisters, Jeanne Tardif (Gene) of Montreal and Donalda Gagnon (late Robert) of Crombie Settlement, one brother, Elmer ''Pit'' Rossignol (late Alice) of Chatham, Ontario, as well as nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Lorraine Pelletier (late Jos)(friend Fred McCluskey), Marian Michaud (late Onile), Rita Lagace (late Joachim), Ida Poitras (late Mathieu), Germaine Morin (late Uldric) and Astrid Michaud (late Charles A.), brothers, Cyril, Meril (late Evelyne), Donald (Bernice) and Arthur (Anne-Marie) as well as infants Solange and Leon.

Funeral services for Mr. Fidèle Rossignol will be held from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with his family and friends in attendance, followed by interment in the parish cemetery.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the Dept. of Health, attendees will be contacted by the family.
