Ruth Hitchcock

Born in Undine, NB in 1927, Ruth Irene Hitchcock (Watson) passed from this world on April 14th, 2022 at the Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover. She was the 9th of 10 children born to Franklin Watson and Lydia McLaughlin.

She was a loyal fan of the Telegraph-Journal, largely to complete the daily crossword puzzle. A voracious reader, especially loving ''Who done it?'' type mysteries. She was a devout Christian woman and a lifetime member of the Ortonville United Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, Mina Hitchcock, infant Jonathan Watson, Gertrude Lawson, Willard Watson, Emily Lockhart, Leitha Campbell, James Leigh Watson, Shirley Prescott and Gladys Gallagher and her husband Gordon F. Hitchcock of Grand Falls. Also her son, Brian G. Hitchcock of Keswick, NB and a daughter Constance A. Hitchcock (Larry Kavanaugh) of New Denmark. 

She leaves behind a daughter, Deborah J. (John Scovil) of Saint John and her youngest son Michael S. (Sherry) Hitchcock of Grand Falls, son-in-law, Larry Kavanaugh of New Denmark, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Friday April 22nd from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 23rd from 1 to 2 p.m.

A funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Hitchcock will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 2 p.m. from the funeral home with Rev. Roy Dee officiating. Interment will be in the Ortonville Baptist Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Victoria Glen Manor would be appreciated by the family.

In the interest of protecting the vulnerable who will attend and to avoid prolonged exposure in a confined space, there will be no luncheon or social gathering following the service.
