Eva Diamond

1931-2023

Eva Diamond

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eva Diamond announce her passing at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on February 27, 2023 at the age of 91.

Born in Grand River, NB in1931; she was the daughter of the late Leverett and Lilliam Byram and the wife of the late Beecher Diamond.

As the fourth eldest in a family of 15, Eva spent her early years working on the family farm and helping take care of her younger siblings. After she married Beecher, Eva happily helped her mother in law, Mina care for her sister in law, Beatrice. Also, she cared for Mina in her old age and Beecher, who took sick shortly after he retired. When she entered the nursing home, she did not give up her caring nature but instead proceeded to have a larger, extended family to care for, helping to fold towels, making bread, peeling carrots, pushing the residents in wheelchairs to activities or the dining room, visiting those too sick to leave their room and generally staying abreast of everyone’s well being. She never stopped caring. Caring was her way of life.

She is survived by her daughter Ethel Belliveau (Mark) of Sussex and grandchildren Julia Anderson (Jon) of Moncton, Patrick Belliveau and Carter Belliveau of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Nicole Belliveau of Quispamsis; three brothers, Lewis Byram (late Marlene) and Ray Byram (Diane) of Grand River and Alfred Byram (Monique) of Grand Bay-Westfield; six sisters, Inez Rees (Norman) of Trenton, Ontario, Mavis Kleebaum (Willis) and Joyce Doherty (Bud) of Quaker Brook, Gloria Gray (late Bob) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Annie Byram of Grand River and Violet Byram of Carlingford, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Ross Byram, Walter Byram and Harvey Byram and sisters Shirley Byram and Valdeo Byram.

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Friday, June 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3rd at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with interment in the Grand River United Church Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the management and staff of the Kiwanis Nursing Home for the excellent care given to Eva and the kindnesses shown to the family. A special thanks to Dr. Allaby and Dr. Butler for overseeing her well being.

For those who wish, donations to the Grand River Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
