Raynald Arthur Jensen
June 5, 1929 – June 21,
2026
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Raynald Arthur Jensen, who passed away on June 21, 2026, at the age of 97.
Born on June 5, 1929, Raynald was the son of Arthur and Agnes (Carlsen) Jensen. Throughout his long life, he remained deeply proud of his Danish heritage and the values of hard work, perseverance, and family that shaped him.
Raynald spent much of his life farming potatoes, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and connection to the land. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed many passions that brought him happiness over the years. He was an avid skier, loved dancing, and cherished opportunities to spend time with family and friends.
Freemasonry was an important part of Raynald’s life. As a longtime member of Coldbrook Lodge No. 39 in Grand Falls, he formed many lasting friendships and served his community with dedication. In recognition of his service and his strong connection to his Danish roots, he was honoured by the National Grand Lodge of Denmark with an appointment as Grand Representative to the Grand Lodge of New Brunswick.
Raynald shared 48 years of marriage with his beloved first wife, Betty (Hansen) Jensen, until her passing. Together they raised four children: Kevin (Doreen), Mitchell (Anne), Peggy (Dave), and their son Keith, who predeceased him. Their family grew to include ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom form an enduring part of his legacy.
Later in life, Raynald was fortunate to find love again and married Yvonne “Bonnie” (Broad) Jensen. Together they shared 16 years of marriage, creating many memories and enjoying life’s later chapters side by side. He is also survived by Bonnie's family, Tony Michaud (Jeannie) and Kim Morin (Nico) as well as her grandchildren.
Raynald was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Agnes Jensen; his first wife, Betty; his son, Keith; and his siblings Percy (Sadie Hitchcock), Mildred (Gerald Rogers), Irene (Eric Sorensen), Helen (David Rogers), and Phyllis (Arnold Deschene).
He will be remembered for his dedication, resilience, and the pride he took in his family, his heritage, and the life he lived. His legacy lives on through the generations that follow him and through the memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
The family extends their gratitude to all those who offered care, friendship, and support to Raynald throughout his life.
For those wishing to honour Raynald’s memory, donations may be made to the SPCA or the New Denmark Historical Society. Such gifts would be a meaningful tribute to a man who held a deep appreciation for both animals and the history and heritage of his community.
May he rest in peace, reunited with those who have gone before him and forever remembered by those whose lives he touched.
