Normand Parent

At the Grand Falls General Hospital, July 14, 2020, Mr. Normand Parent of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 89 years.  He was the husband of Gertrude (LeBlond) Parent.  Born at Saint-Leonard in 1931, he was a son of the late Pierre and Delia (Cyr) Parent.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Parent was Manager of the Employment and Immigration Office of Grand Falls for several years.  He was a Past President of the Grand Falls Golden Age Club, a member of the Richelieu Club and a very active volunteer for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, among other interests.

He is survived by his wife Gertrude, his daughter Denise (Allain Boulet) of Grand Falls, two grandchildren, Richard Boulet (Danielle Duffie) of Moncton and Sylvie Boulet (Colin Alexander) of Courtnay, BC, two great grandchildren, Malia and Maddix, one brother, Omer Parent (Jeannette McClure) of Grand Falls, several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son, Michel Parent in 2009, sisters and brothers, Rita Couillard, Gertrude Berube, Edgar and Amedee Parent and infant sister Norma.

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls.

His funeral service will be held from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with his family and close friends in attendance.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the Dept. of Health, attendees will be contacted by the family.
