Joachim "Watin" Michaud

At the Grand Falls General Hospital, May 9, 2021, Mr. Joachim ''Watin'' Michaud of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 88 years.  He was the husband of Mildred (Poitras) Michaud.  Born at Grand Falls in 1932, he was a son of the late Fred and Rose (Levesque) Michaud.

Mr. Michaud and his wife Mildred founded Springwater Campground Ltd., which formerly included a restaurant, service station and repair and towing service, particularly for tractor trailer trucks.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree of Grand Falls Council 2331 and 4th degree of Assembly 0621.

He is survived by his wife, four children, Nancy (Yvon), Verna (Robert), Danny (Lise) and Ronny (Tina), seven grandchildren, Joey, Jennifer, Steve, Vicky, Jeffrey, Jessica and Kaylee, eight great grandchildren, Britney, Ashley, Kate, Alex, Karelle, Genève, Nellie and Nick, one brother, Gilbert (Marie-Anne), two sisters-in-law, Thérèse (late Albert) and Mona (feu Armand), a brother-in-law, Ronald Levesque (late Pauline), as well as nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Roger, Albert and Armand, three sisters, Régina Sirois Beaulieu, Aline Roberge and Pauline Michaud Levesque. 

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls.

His funeral service will be held from the St-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with his family and close friends in attendance.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Due to restrictions imposed by the Dept. of Health, attendees will be contacted by the family.
