Mogens "Moose" Givskud

At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), May 13, 2021, Mr. Mogens ''Moose'' Givskud of Drummond passed away at the age of 84 years.  He was the husband of Vicky (Violette) Givskud.  Born at Drummond in 1936, he was a son of the late Hans and Elisabeth (Treshov-Schade) Givskud.

He is survived by his wife Vicky, two children, Mike (Michelle) and Mia (Anne-Marie) of Drummond, three grandchildren, Andrew (Chelsey Briggs), Megan (Marc-André Côté) and Riley, two great grandsons, Nick and Nate and a great granddaughter on the way, two sisters, Eva Skaarup (late Frederick) of River-de-Chute, NB and Ada Givskud of Fredericton, as well as nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Johan (late Gaetane) and Frederick (late Joan Marie).

Mogens started working the land early in life, working alongside his father until he bought the family farm in 1964.  He continually acquired more land and built strong client relationships as he focused on producing seed potatoes and grain.  In 1983 Mogens was awarded the NB soil and Crop Farmer of the Year award, in 1993 was awarded the Business Excellence Award and in 1996 he was awarded the Minister’s Marketing Award of excellence.  He shared his passion and vision with the industry and served on many committees and boards through the years.

A "gentleman farmer" would best describe him, a humble and kind man, always ready to lend a hand.

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls.

His funeral service will be held from the St-Michel Roman Catholic Church, Drummond with his family and close friends in attendance.
