Monique St-Amand

At Foyer Notre-Dame Nursing Home of Saint-Leonard, September 6, 2021, Miss Monique St-Amand of Saint-Leonard passed away at the age of 72.  Born at Saint-Leonard in 1948, she was a daughter of the late Antoine and Rita (Poitras) St-Amand.

As well as a career in teaching, Monique was very involved in her community, having been a Girl Guide Leader in the diocesan movement, worked with Developement and Peace and was a member of the parish choir and organist of the Saint-Leonard Parish for several years, providing her precious services to several parishes of the diocese of Edmundston.

She is survived by her son Michel of Joliette, Quebec, sisters and brothers, Antoinette (late Ben Beaulieu) of Saint-Basile, Carmel (Françoise), Anne-Marie (Philip Paradis) and Jacqueline of Saint-Leonard, Fidèle (Gisèle) of Beresford, Louis (Mona) of Baie-Sainte-Anne, Gisèle (Raymond Lafontaine) of Ottawa, Nicole (Ronald Ouellette) of Grand Falls and Donald of Saint-Leonard, sister-in-law, Françoise Thivierge of Gatineau, Quebec, as well as nieces and nephews.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Antoine and Rita, two brothers, Jean-Marie and Jacques, one niece, Kristy Paradis.

Resting at O'Regan's Chapel, 83 St-Antoine Street, Saint-Leonard with visiting hours on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, September 11th at 11 a.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with interment in the parish cemetery.
