Onil Albert

At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), October 17, 2021, Mr. Onil Albert of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 88 years.  He was married to the former Lucille Belanger.  Born at Drummond in 1933, he was a son of the late Narcisse and Estelle (Cote) Albert.

Mr. Albert was a machinist by trade and an entrepreneur by passion.  He founded Canadian Handles Ltd., worked for McCain Foods Limited, Maine Potato Service, Baker's Machine Shop of Presque Isle, Maine and was the founder of the A-Team Steamers Limited and owned and operated Maritime Asphalt Resurface Ltd. for 20 years to name a few of his achievements.  He was a 3rd-degree Honorary Life member of the Knights of Columbus, Grand Falls Council 2331.

He is survived by his wife Lucille, six children, Francine Michaud (Mario Lapointe) of Grand Falls, Rino (Bernadette Ouellette), Cindy Pelletier (Mike van den Oetelaar) and Jimmy, all of Toronto, Daniel (Denise) of Grand Falls and Denise Albert (Nina Rodriguez) of Gatineau, Quebec, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, sisters and brothers, Cécile Shorey (late Roland) of Grand Falls, Wilda King (Gene) of Jacksonville, Florida, Lily Bourgoin (Guy) of Fredericton, Fernand (Judy Dalid Albert) of Grand Falls, Yvon (Laura) of St. Stephen and Leon (Yvonne) of Drummond, brother-in-law, Laurien Thibault (late Marie) and sister-in-law, Monique Corbin Albert (late Jean-Marie) as well as nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two children, son Gary and infant daughter Micheline, twin grandsons, Dominic and Jeremie Albert, sister, Marie Thibault, brothers, Aldor (late Irene) and Jean-Marie.

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Thursday October 28th from 7-9 p.m. and Friday October 29th from 2-3:30 p.m.  Knights of Columbus will meet for prayers Thursday at 8:00 p.m.

His funeral service will be held Friday, October 29th at 4 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery.

In New Brunswick, all people aged 12 and up will be required to show their record of immunization or medical exemption certificate and a government issued identification to be able to attend visitations and funeral services. This includes services at the funeral home or at the church.
