At the Grand Falls General Hospital, December 2, 2021, Mr.
Lee Akerley of Saint-Leonard passed away at the age of 63
years. Born in 1958, he was a son of the late John and
Rachel (Grivois) Akerley.
Lee was actively
involved with the Holy Trinity Pastoral Unit for several years, as a
Reader, Communion Minister, altar server at various celebrations and a
member of various committees. At the diocesan level, he was
parish catechism coordinator for Saint-Leonard as well as a member of
the diocesan committee of the Youth and Family Service. He
has always worked with the most disadvantaged in society, people with
special needs, the elderly and shut-ins. He was also a
member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree, of
Saint-Léonard council 2743.
Lee
is survived by four sisters, Gail (Eric) of Kansas City,
Kansas, Judy (Richard) of Saint-Leonard, Peggy (John) of Van Buren,
Maine, Jill (Diana) of Bangor, Maine, his brother Glen of Ottawa, 12
nieces and nephews, Sophia, John, James, Christopher, Steven,
André, Julie, Marc, Patrick, Emma, JP and Kari, 13
great-nephews and great-nieces as well as two on the way, his
godmother, Carlene Grivois of Missouri, his godfather, Eugene Grivois
of New Hampshire, as well as aunts, uncles and
couisns.
Resting at O'Regan's Chapel, 83 St-Antoine Street,
Saint-Leonard with visiting hours on Monday December 6th from 9:00 to
10:30 a.m.
His funeral service will be held Monday, December 6th at 11
a.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with interment in
the parish cemetery.

up will be required to show
their record of immunization or medical exemption
certificate and a
government issued identification to be able to attend
visitations and funeral services. This includes services at
the funeral home or at the church.
