Fernand W. Cyr

At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, December 29, 2021, Mr. Fernand W. Cyr of St-Leonard-Parent passed away at the age of 89 years. He was the widower of Huguette Cyr. Born at Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska in 1932, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Yvonne (Duplessis) Cyr and had been residing at Foyer La Renaissance of Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska the past few years. Born at Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska in 1932, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Yvonne Duplessis) Cyr.

Mr. Cyr was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, of former Council 8569 and currently of Council 2743.

He is survived by six children, Jacques (late Nicole)(Colette Beaulieu-Caissie) of Saint-Andre, Jacqueline Lavoie (Ben) of Saint-Andre, Gaëtan (Jennifer Scott) of Tillsonburg, Ontario, Ginette Marquis (Jean-Jules Violette) of St-Leonard-Parent, Donald (Loretta Cyr) of St-Leonard-Parent and Jean-Pierre (Linda Bijeau) of Saint-Leonard, 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, four brothers, Ernest Cyr (Causette) of Sept-Iles, Quebec, Réal (Bernadette) and Roland (Victorine) of Siegas and Robert (Betsy) of Holland and one sister, Colette Ayotte (Fred) of Van Buren, Maine, as well as nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by three brothers, Gilbert, Gérald and Ronald and two sisters, Aline Michaud and Rita Ringuette.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with interment in the St-Antoine-de-Padoue Cemetery, St-Leonard-Parent.

In New Brunswick, all people aged 12 and up will be required to show their record of immunization or medical exemption certificate and a government issued identification to be able to attend visitations and funeral services. This includes services at the funeral home or at the church.
