Raymond Beaulieu

1930-2022

Raymond Beaulieu

At the Grand Falls General Hospital, August 9, 2022, Mr. Raymond Beaulieu of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 92 years and four months. He was the husband of Lucille (Sénéchal) Beaulieu. Born at Saint-André in 1930, he was a son of the late Albert and Florida (Poitras) Beaulieu.

Raymond spent a great deal of his life and took tremendous pride in planning and constructing  improvements to his home, cottage and business.

However he was not all about work. Raymond was an avid horseman who at one point in his life owned five horses which he attended to with care and the deepest of affection. Earlier in his life,  he loved to travel throughout the province on weekends attending various horse related activities of all kinds.

A lifelong passion of Raymond’s was gardening which he concentrated more on after his retirement. He delighted in watching the seasons change as he leisurely worked amongst his gardens, flowers and apple trees.

We cannot forget Raymond’s talent working with stained glass. His creations of stained glass lamps, windows, murals and knick nacks were one of a kind crafted meticulously by his own hand. His stained glass creations adorned and beautified his home, and many of his creations he gifted to family and friends. Neighbours and friends will also remember Raymond as ‘the go to guy’  who would skillfully repair or refurbish broken stained glass items that were trusted to him to fix.

First and foremost Raymond will be remembered as a family man. He took great pride in helping family however he could and found wonderful pleasure in sharing a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates, a warm smile. His children,  son in laws  and daughter in laws, grandchildren, great grandchildren,  all of his family near and far, will forever remember him as a kind, caring and gentle man who was a joy to be around.

Wishing to thank Dr. Blunston, Dr Sylvie and to all the hospital staff who gave the best of care to Raymond during his stay at Grand Falls hospital where he was always in capable and loving hands. Thank you.

He is survived by his wife Lucille, five children, Annette (Henry Diamond) of St-Leonard-Parent, Georges (Pauline Watson) of Grand Falls, Jean of Montreal, Charles (Geneviève Gauthier) of Boischatel, Quebec and Denise (Jean-Louis Theriault) of Grand Falls, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one brother, Jean-Guy Beaulieu (Ginette) of Grand Falls as well as nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two infant sons, Bernard and Joseph, grandchildren, Kevin Tardif, Johnny and Désiré Mazerolle, great grandchildren, René and Raeline Beaulieu Desrosiers, three brothers, Bertin ''Zino'' (late Aline Bérubé), Patrice ''Pit'' (Claudette Cormier), Yvon (Armande Cormier), four sisters, infant sister Jeanne d'Arc, Jeanne (late Yvon Campeau), Marie-Reine (late Maurice Michaud) and Estelle (late Roger Michaud).
