Germaine Laforge
1928-2023


At the Grand Falls General Hospital, November 10, 2023, Mrs. Germaine Laforge of Saint-André passed away at the age of 95 years. She was the widow of Maurice ''Bill'' Laforge. Born at Saint-André in 1928, she was the last surviving child of the late Simon and Jeanne (Poitras) Gagnon.
At a young age, she joined the Saint-André parish choir and was an active member of the group until the very end of a very active life. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Saint-André Circle for the past 36 years.
She is survived by eleven children, Micheline MacDonald (Daniel) of Québec, Jeannot (Rinette) of Saint-André, Francine Laforge (Jean Lépinay) of Québec, Renaud ''Johnny'' (Nicole) of St-Léonard-Parent, Jacques (Patsy) of Saint-André, Jacqueline Watson (George) of Fredericton, Lise Martin (Gilman) of Grand Falls, Myriam Laforge (Donald MacDougall) of Fredericton, Noëlline Ouellette (Reno) of New Denmark, Marc (Line) of Grand-Sault and Denise Ouellette (Yvan) of Drummond, daughter-in-law, Yolande (late Cajetan), 25 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Shirley Gagnon (late Bertin) of Hartford, Connecticut and Rita Gagnon (late Carmel) of Saint-Basile, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Cajetan ''Cach'' Laforge, grandchildren, Hélène Laforge and Jonathan Watson, all of her sisters and brothers, Rita Desjardins (late Elie), Bernadette St-Amand (late Emile), Eveline Poitras (late Hector), Roméo (late Jeanne), Joseph (late Lilianne), Gemma Poitras (late Edouard ''Ti-Wood''), Patricia Côté (late Héliodore), Rina Thériault (late Jean-Baptiste), Bertin (Shirley), Félix (late Aline) and Carmel (Rita).
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Wednesday November 15th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 16th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Daughters of Isabella will meet for prayers Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, November 16th at 11 a.m. from the Saint-André Roman Catholic Church with interment in the parish cemetery.
