Hermile Daigle

At the Grand Falls General Hospital, January 1, 2024, Mr. Hermile Daigle of Saint-Leonard passed away at the age of 92 years. He was the widower of Jeanette Bourque and the companion of Thérèse Gagnon. Born at Saint-Leonard in 1931, he was a son of the late Ulric and Elizabeth Anne (Bellefleur) Daigle.

Hermile was a St. Leonard businessman who took over Daigle’s Motel from his father in 1968. He  renovated all the rooms, expanded the front office and built a swimming pool. A few years later he built a restaurant and added a conference room. He enjoyed playing golf and also enjoyed the many years he wintered in Florida. He was a man who took pride in all his properties. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Besides his campanion Thérèse, he is survived by three sons, Maurice (Margaret) of Saint-Leonard, Marc (Nathalie) of Sainte-Marcelline-de-Kildare, Quebec and Marcel (Theresa) of Saco, Maine, five grandchildren, Denise Daigle (Luc Mazerolle), André Daigle (Annisa), Philippe Daigle (Melyssa), Sébastien Daigle (Emmanuelle) and Luc Daigle (Kim), several great garndchildren, brother Daniel Daigle (Philippa) of Saint-Leonard, sister-in-law, Jeannine Daigle (late Carmel) of Lewiston, Maine, as well as nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Jeanette and brother Carmel.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at O'Regan's Chapel, 83 St-Antoine Street in Saint-Leonard on Saturday, May 4th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, May 4th at 11 a.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with interment in the parish Cemetery.
