Gérald Carroll

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gérald Carroll on Saturday January 27, 2024 at the age of 88, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the husband of Lorraine Bourgoin. Born in Grand Falls in 1935, he was a son of the late Herman Carroll and the late Alma Michaud.

Mr. Carroll was a former mayor of the Town of Grand Falls and a long-time member of the Richelieu Club.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine, three children, Eric (Manon) of Miramichi, Annick (Mario) and Dominic (Annik) of Grand Falls, five grandchildren, Mathieu (Kamissa), Patrick (Parise), Chloé, Gabrielle (Adrian) and Xavier, great granddaughter, Zoé, two sisters, Rosanne Gagnon (late Louis) and Linda Lafrance (Elmer) of Grand Falls as well as nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Leitha (late Lawrence Bell), five brothers, Rodolphe (Bernadette), Vivian (late Anne), Raymond (Osanne), Reid (Edna) and Melvin (Renée). 

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Tuesday January 30th from 7 to 9 p.m.

On Wednesday, January 31st, the family will be receiving relatives and friends in the St-Georges Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls from 10 to 11 a.m.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 31st at 11 a.m. from the St-Georges Parish Church with interment in the parish cemetery at a later date.

For those who wish, donations to the Grand Falls Regional Food Bank or a hot meal program of one of the area schools would be appreciated.
