Maurice Godbout
1940-2024
At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, February 9, 2024, Mr. Maurice Godbout of Drummond passed away at the age of 83 years. Born in Drummond in 1940, he was a son of the late Aurèle and Eva (Thériault) Godbout.
Mr. Godbout was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Council 6841 of Drummond and 4th Degree of Assembly 2366 Rev. Felix Dugal. He was a pionner in establishing Radio Canada in Moncton as a Television technician from 1959 to 1994. Since his retirement, he enjoyed relaxing all the while encouraging the Montreal Canadiens.
He is survived by two children, Marjolaine Godbout (Stéphane Beausoleil) of St-Mathias-sur-Richelieu, Québec and Laurien Godbout (fiancée Michelle Savoie) of Moncton, grandson, Félix Beausoleil, one brother, Armand Godbout (late Léonie) of Drummond, three sisters, Anne Pelletier (late Gérard), Lauria Godbout and Lucille Mills (late Eldon) of Drummond, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, O'Nil (late Isabelle), Raoul (late Mabel), Gaëtan, Alexandre (late Aline) and Laurier (late Dorina) and his sisters, Carmelle Desjardins (late Onil), Céline Pelletier (late Louis-Marie) and Lorraine Cloutier (late Roger).
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Friday February 16th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 17th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
The Knights of Columbus will meet for prayers Friday at 8:00 p.m.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, February 17th at 11 a.m. from the St-Michel Roman Catholic Church, Drummond with interment in the parish cemetery.
