Neville C. Ashworth
1938-2024
At the Grand Falls General Hospital, July 17, 2024, Mr. Neville C. Ashworth of Anfield passed away at the age of 85 years. He was the widower of Molly Sadler who passed away in 1999. Born at Anfield in 1938, he was a son of the late Guy and Madeline (Watson) Ashworth.
Neville spent most of his life farming in Anfield. He was a co-owner of the A&T grocery store in Plaster Rock. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, bulldozing, and watching the Red Sox.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Grand Falls General Hospital for their care of him in his last days.
He is survived by his brothers Hugh Ashworth (Rosemary) and Robert Ashworth of Vancouver Island, BC; his sister, Marguerite Cahoon of Florida; his sister-in-law, Mary Ashworth of Fredericton; his children, Sheila Ashworth of Tantallon, Nova Scotia, Derek Ashworth (Lisa) of Anfield, and Tara Lounsbery (Joseph) of Camden, South Carolina; and grandchildren, Ainsley, Ashlyn, and Jordan Baillie, Logan, Grace, and Anna Ashworth, and Nicholas and Matthew Lounsbery, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Molly (Sadler) Ashworth; his brothers, Claude, Cecil, and Ralph; and his sisters, Kathleen McCue, Edith McGlynn, Alice Linton, and Eileen Forbes.
Services for Neville will be private at a later date in Linton Corner Cemetery.
