Rachel Burgess

At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), December 22, 2024, Mrs. Rachel Burgess of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 89 years. She was the widow of Lee A. Burgess. Born at Grand Falls in 1935, she was the last surviving child of the late Joseph and Aurelie (Leclerc) Cormier.

Rachel is survived by her daughter Leah MacKay (Graeme) of Stellarton, NS, five grandchildren, Maggie MacKay (Mike MacKillop), Thomas MacKay, Laura Cormier (Jordan), Emily MacKay (partner Aron Borden) and Samantha Doucette Weightman-Bayles, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by four children, Jimmy, Donna, Carl and Alison, and all of her siblings, Urbain, Damien, Cleo, Rino "Ti-Jean", Donald, Diana, Laurent and Elsa.

Services for Rachel will be held in the Spring at a time to announced. Interment will be in the Assumption Cemetery in Grand Falls.
