Muriel Bourget

Mary Muriel Bourget, 82, of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, passed peacefully on December 23, 2024 at the Grand Falls General Hospital.

She was born in Perce, Quebec in 1942 to William Bourget and Teresa Journeau. At the age of 18, Muriel left Gaspe for Montreal to rejoin her siblings and find new opportunities and adventures. Muriel started her long career with Northern Telecom in 1963, and worked diligently with them for 35 years. Muriel then left Toronto for Grand Falls to enjoy retirement and life.      

Muriel was preceded in death by her parents William Bourget and Teresa Journeau, and her sister Dorinda Treventi, and is survived by her siblings Loraine Penner, Joyce Bourget, Kenneth Bourget (Rachel), Leola Bourget, Marilyn Bourget (Joe), and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, greats nephews, friends and loved ones. Muriel spent many years of her life in Montreal and Toronto, however will be most remembered for her time in Grand Falls with her close friend Jacqueline Lavoie and the Lavoie family. 

Muriel will be fondly remembered for her big personality and her helpful spirit. For many years Muriel could be found enjoying a day on the golf course followed by spending time with family and friends over a steak and potato dinner, laughing, and reminiscing about the past.

Muriel’s last wishes were to be cremated and to be buried with her mother and father in St-Rose, Quebec. Muriel was a proud a person, and never wanted to be the center of attention. She requested that no service be held, but that her loved ones continue enjoying their lives as she would have.
