Gabriel Marceau

1967-2026

Gabriel Marceau

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our beloved
brother, Gabriel Louis Joseph Marceau of Grand Falls, NB, at the Moncton
Hospital on January 4, 2026 at the age of 58. He had been a resident of
Maison Renaissance of Moncton.

Born in Saint-Alexandre, County of Kamouraska, Quebec in 1967, he was
the son of the late Margaret (Cunningham) and Patrice Marceau.

Gabriel is survived by his siblings, Anne Marceau (Michael Burzynski) of
Rocky Harbour, NL, Debra Craig (late Ken Craig) of Quispamsis, NB,
Debra’s twin sister Dianne Tremblay (Paul Tremblay) of Mississauga, ON,
Etienne of Grand Falls, NB, (Chantal Desjardins, friend) of Grand Falls, NB,
Juliette (late Robert McLeod) (Stephen Bulmer) of Midgic, NB, Daniel
(Lorraine) of Oshawa, ON, Diane (Rino Levesque) of Saint-André, NB,
Medgar (Michael Kimmons) of Seattle, WA and Sylvie Marceau (Alexandre
Bureau) of Quebec, QC, as well as several nieces and nephews and
several great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, an infant brother Michel Sylvan April
12, 1964 and brother Julien Pierre Marceau April 3, 2017.

Gabriel was easy to love, with his big bright smile and his twinkling eyes,
even in his final moments. He was kind and generous and had a gentle
soul. He enjoyed being with family whether it was a short visit or a phone
call. In his younger years, even though he was living far from home, he
remembered family by sending gifts and cards regularly. Gabriel faced
many challenges and yet always displayed compassion to others. We
always said Gabriel had nine lives, and he surely did. He had gone through
more struggles than most of us could ever have imagined, and yet he
maintained a quiet resilience and an ability to see the good in others and in
life. In his younger years, he enjoyed several sports, including kickboxing
and would participate in tournaments and demonstrations in neighbouring
communities. Gabriel’s work experience included time at McCains as well
as various construction jobs.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at
Maison Renaissance in Moncton for their kindness, support and loving care
shown to Gabriel during his years there. It was comforting to know that he
was well looked after and loved.
