Jeannine Leclerc

1935-2026

Jeannine Leclerc

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Jeannine Leclerc, née Larocque, who left us on March 16, 2026, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, at the age of 90.

She was born on July 7, 1935, in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, daughter of Jeanne Charbonneau and Artel Larocque.

She is reunited with her beloved husband, the late Camille Leclerc (d. September 28, 2002), her siblings Lucien, Lucienne, and Donald, as well as her great granddaughter Mila Gamache, all predeceased.

Jeannine leaves behind her three devoted children: Louise Shaw (Greg), Roger Leclerc (Nancy), and Daniel Leclerc (Lynne).

She was a proud and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren: Joshua (Sonya), Rashelle (Tyson), Danielle (Devin), Camille (Zack), Elizabeth (Kyle), Marisa (Stéfan), Zachary (Micaela), Leah, and Dylan.

She also leaves thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Maison Résidence Jodin for the attentive care, kindness, and continuous compassion shown to Mrs. Jeannine Leclerc. Their presence, gentleness, and dedication brought great comfort throughout her stay.

🌿 A Life of Strength, Resilience, and Quiet Leadership

From a young age, Jeannine learned to face life’s challenges with courage. When her father left to serve in the Second World War, she developed the resilience, independence, and leadership that would define her life.

Determined to build her own path, she left Sturgeon Falls to work in Rouyn-Noranda, then moved to Hamilton to learn English and find new opportunities. It was there that she met the love of her life, Camille, whom she always described as "the most handsome man."

Together, life led them to Saint-Léonard, New Brunswick, where they operated a local convenience store that became a warm, familiar place — a hub of service, connection, and meaningful relationships with the community. Jeannine and Camille were known not only for their hard work, but for the kindness and humanity they brought to every interaction.

Jeannine was an entrepreneur long before the word became common. Creative and resourceful, she poured her heart into her many projects, especially her handmade blankets. She was a lifelong learner, a generous cook, a natural gatherer of people, and a woman with a wonderful sense of humor.

Organized and independent, she preferred doing things her own way — a trait that endeared her to those who knew her well.

To her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she remains a shining example of resilience, perseverance, and courage. A strong, loving woman who walked through life with dignity and authenticity.

 Safe travels, Mimi.

You will forever remain in our hearts.
