Thomas Kavanaugh

At the Falls Villa, May 19, 2026, Mr. Thomas Kavanaugh of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 95 years. He was the widower of Bernadette Laforge by first marriage and the husband of Denise Morin by second marriage. Born at Grand Falls in 1930, he was a son of the late Roy and Monica (Rideout) Kavanaugh.

He is survived by his wife Denise, nine children, and their families:

Gail Gourley  and her children: Brock (Anna) {Maya, Lucy}, Kirk Gourley, Stephanie (Matt McInerney) {Everly, Colin}, Kristi Gourley;

Ed Kavanaugh (Carolle) and his children: Nick (Josée) {Chance, Lauren}, Nathan (Janelle) {Kate};

Cyndy Toner (Greg) and their children: Justin (Mélanie Ouellette) {Ethan, Isaac}, Heather (Evan Scott) {Charles, Madelyn}, Danielle (Jeffrey McKinley) {Elliotte, Oliver, Callum}, Kaylyn (Matthew Logan);

Michael Kavanaugh (Claudette) and their children: Keenan (Emily Sutherland), Bernadette (Cody) and Celine Kavanaugh;

John Kavanaugh (Tina) and their children: Lindsay Kavanaugh (Conner Schlesiger), Daniel Kavanaugh;

Lisa Dobos (Derek Dobos) and their children: {Connor, Kavan}.

He is also survived by Denise’s family: Angel (Paul Poitras), Isaiah Morin Brown, Lyam Morin Poitras; Luc (Melissa Drysdale); Gérald Jr. Morin (Tiffany Michaud); Jacob Morin and Kaleb Morin.

Carolle’s family: Tony Savage (Diane Fraser), Alex Kinney, Isabelle Kinney, Paige Savage, Joe Savage, Lily Savage, Sydney Savage; Daniel Savage, Amanda Savage (Pierre), Emilie Michaud, Amy Laforge (Louis), Alex, Emma, Rachel Savage (CJ), Brody Savage, Chandler Parent.

Daughter-in-law, Ginette Bourgoin.

Tom is also survived by two brothers, Earl (Joan) of Brossard, Quebec and Al (Beth)(late Mary Corinne) of Riverview, sisters-in-law, Joyce (late John) of Dartmouth, NS and Betty (late Kevin) of Coquitlam, BC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Bernadette, his parents, sister Gladys Gorey (late Louis) and brothers Francis, LeRoy, Cyril, Bud, John, Don, Clarence and Kevin (Betty), sisters-in-law Thelma, Madeleine, Katherine "Babe", Mary Corinne and Laurencia.

Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Friday May 22nd from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m.

His funeral service will be held Friday, May 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery.
