Lorraine Poitras

At Foyer Notre-Dame Nursing Home of Saint-Leonard, May 27, 2026, Mrs. Lorraine Poitras of Saint-LEonard passed away at the age of 93 years. She was the widow of Gilbert E. Poitras. Born at Drummond in 1932, she was a daughter of the late Léo L. and Rose (Côté) Ouellette.
Mrs. Poitras was a member of the Saint-Leonard Daughters of Isabella and the parish choir for several years. She was also an active volunteer with the after-funeral meals committee and Development and Peace.
She is survived by seven children, Jacinthe Violette (John) of Saint-Leonard, Gilles (companion Linda Morin) of Drummond, Roger (companion Julie Levesque) of Saint-Leonard, Eugène (Carol) of Bathurst, Diane Beaulieu (Mario) of Saint-Leonard, Gérard (Linda) of Moncton and Denis (Suzanne) of Saint-Leonard, 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren plus one on the way, three brothers and two sisters, Guildor of Moncton, Edwina of Victoriaville, Quebec, Euclide (Lilianne) of Saint John, Françoise (Roland Vigneault) of Baie-Comeau, Quebec and Roger (Monette) of Quebec, brothers-in-law, Bertin Soucy and Alyre Poitras (Gisèle), as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Leonard, Adrien, Lucien, Donald, Fidèle, Gisele and infant sister, Jacinthe.
Resting at O'Regan's Chapel, 83 St-Antoine Street in Saint-Leonard with visiting hours on Tuesday June 2nd from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 2nd at 4:00 p.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with interment in the parish cemetery.
