Rose-Alva Martin

At the Grand Falls General Hospital, May 27, 2026, Mrs. Rose-Alva Martin of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 87 years. She was the wife of Aimé Martin. Born at Saint-André in 1939, she was the last surviving child of the late Paul and Léona (Kearney) Poitras.

Mrs. Martin was a retired school teacher. 

She is survived by her husband Aimé, her daughter, Lucie Martin of Grand Falls, her grandchildren, Nicholas Roach (Sylvie Michaud Roach) and Stéphanie Roach (Richard Braymore), her great granddaughter, Daphnée Roach Braymore, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by all of her sisters and brothers, Jeanne Violette, Blanche Bourgoin, Pauline Mongrain, Omérine Boivin, Irène Cyr, Jeannette Perron, Albina Langlais, Doris Chevrette, Rose-Alma Violette, Odile Phillips, Emile, Germain, Aurèle et Gabriel Poitras.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 3rd at 11:00 a.m. from the St-Georges Roman Catholic Church in Grand Falls with interment in the parish cemetery.

Please note that there will not be any visiting hours prior to the funeral service.
