George Daneluk
1960-2026
It is with profound sadness that the family of George Daneluk announces his peaceful passing at the Grand Falls General Hospital on July 4, 2026, at the age of 66, with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
George was born in Milton, Ontario, on February 11, 1960, to the late Jean Sophie (Greziak) Daneluk.
George will be deeply missed by the love of his life and devoted wife of 46 years, Susan (Paradis); his son, George Jr. (Erin-Beth); his daughter, Patricia (Marc Côté); his cherished grandchildren, Danielle and Nicholas Roberge; his step-granddaughter, Hailey Côté; and his beloved four-legged companion, Mimi, who rarely left his side.
He is also survived by his biological siblings, Tom (late Yvaine), Walter (Lou-Ann), and Christine (Alvin Krawchuk). He was predeceased by his biological siblings: Jean, Diane (Otavio Vitucci), Leonard (Bev), Johnny, Shirley (late Dave Mullins), and Harvey.
After the loss of his mother at a young age, George was lovingly raised by Jeannette Michaud and the late Maurice Michaud, whose love, guidance, and support helped shape the man he became. He is also survived by the family who became his own through them, including Danny (Linda) and Tammy (Rock Theriault), and was predeceased by Nicole (Bob Michaud).
George is also survived by his brother- and sister-in-law, Carol (Bill Shortt) and Father Paul Paradis. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Theresa (Paul Tillotson), Edward Jr. (Lucy), Robert (Joy), Donna (Paul Slevin), and Janet (Alan Rodakowski).
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
George spent much of his life working in the woods, where his strong work ethic, determination, and love of the outdoors were evident to everyone who knew him. Although he appreciated the satisfaction of hard work, his favourite places to be were at his beloved camp on the Tobique River or enjoying the peace and quiet of his property in Miramichi. Whether he was fishing with his family, sitting by the fire, spending time in nature, or simply enjoying the outdoors, those were the places where he felt most comfort and peace.
George will be remembered for his teasing sense of humour, his quick wit, and the smile he could bring to those around him. He loved joking with family and friends, and even in difficult times, he had a way of making people laugh. His kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Grand Falls General Hospital, as well as the oncology team at The Moncton Hospital—especially Dr. Abdel Salam, Ian Chute, Chantal Houser, the assessment nurses Andree and Kristee, and the entire Rubin Clinic team—for their exceptional care, compassion, and unwavering support throughout George’s journey.
A Celebration of George’s Life will be held at O’Regan’s Funeral Home on Friday, July 10th at 11:00 a.m. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
George believed in helping others, and through his participation in a clinical trial, he has left a lasting legacy. His willingness to take part in research will help advance future treatments for others facing this disease, offering hope to patients and families for years to come. It is a gift that extends far beyond his own journey—a final act of generosity that reflects the kind of man he was. Though he is gone, the difference he made will continue to be felt in the lives of those who benefit from the research he helped make possible.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that George’s pain has ended. His love, laughter, strength, generosity, quiet presence, and the legacy he leaves through both his family and his contribution to cancer research will remain in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honour George’s memory to consider making a donation through the NB Ride Against Cancer in support of cancer research and oncology clinics throughout New Brunswick. Donations may be directed to the Rubin Clinic at The Moncton Hospital, where George received exceptional care and participated in a clinical trial that gave him hope and, most importantly, precious time with his family.
